8. Roles Distribution

How do I assign roles to my users? What do the rights obtained through a role entail? By default, two roles are on.

User roles within the Track and Trace System of Cartracker

ā€¨Driver: the driver of the vehicle, this person can only see his own vehicle

Fleet admin: the manager, this person can see the entire fleet. Click "View" to see the full overview.

Super admin: the fleet manager, sees all the fleet and business trips - Private trips are not visible!

Switch accounts (driver to admin and vice versa)

For their own vehicles, an admin has the ability to switch between accounts - that is, from admin to driver and vice versa. This is done in the following way:

  1. Go to our portal and log in
  2. In the main menu, click on the first icon above the logo
  3. You see your current status - in this example (super admin)
  4. To switch to rider or vice versa, you click on the arrows next to Super Admin
  5. Click on your username to log in as user or admin

Change roles - Set your roles entirely as you wish

Determine which employee gets to see what. Create your own user roles and adjust as needed. Follow the steps below

  1. Log in via our portal
  2. Click on settings
  3. Select roles
  4. In this overview you see the default roles | to create a new role click on'add new role'.

Create a new role

In this menu you create a role that fully meets the requirements and wishes of the organization. For each category, you select what the user in question has access to.

In this menu, set who can view by category (vehicles, trips, live map, POI / geofences, other, reports and more). Within the categories there are different parameters to make the role exactly how you want it!

EXTRA TIP: Drivers with access to the website and App can also log in via the "Cartracker App" for both IOS and Android.
